I have written a wide range of Screenplays, Treatments and Outlines over the years in all sorts of genres and styles. Following are a few of the more recent efforts.

Submerged

Lindsay is a teenage girl with a unique gift, but one that might literally be the death of her. In the small town of Willow Point, she discovers how evil can flourish in the commonest of places.

Submerged is a supernatural thriller. A feature length movie done in partnership with Dreams Unleashed. I wrote the script from a story by Ben McKenzie, who Directed the film. I also Co-Produced, was DOP, and am closely involved in Post Production.

Mortal Fools

When a group of friends get together for a housewarming, the last thing they expect is an invasion of invisible gatecrashers with the power to play cupid and plenty of mischief in mind!

This is a low budget feature film which I have also Co-Produced and Directed. the film is complete and currently seeking distribution. For more visit the Mortal Fools web site.

Sugar

A Black Comedy. Think Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels Aussie style (with less bloodshed and more fart jokes). Another short film that grew into a feature. The short version was written and produced for the 2004 Newcastle Shootout festival, and is being entered into other festivals.

The basic premise is that a couple have just shot a drug dealer in their home, and have to decide what to do with the body.

The feature version take this simple short and expands it with a large cast of twisted characters and a comedy of errors that leads ultimately to starting a gangland war. Another relatively low-budget film to produce and some great bent characters.

Storyteller

A horror / thriller. Full length version of the short film I made a few years back. A Screenwriter suffering from writer's block, suddenly 'finds' a new villian and is able to write again. But this new villian begins to take over the story, and it becomes a battle of wills just to stay alive.

This would be a relatively low budget feature to make, and a tour-de-force for the lead actor playing two roles (the writer and the villian).

The Show Must Go On

A movie musical. The story centres on the final week of rehearsal as a small theatre company tries to stage a new musical.

Everything seems to be going wrong. First they have to suddenly change venues to a derelict old venue no-one has used in years, then their leading lady walks out. And this is just within the first five minutes. But the musical numbers, through the imagination of the Director, look spectacular - If they ever get to opening night.

Most of the action takes place in the theatre, with the Director as the central character in what would be a toure-de-force for the actor playing the role.

The script is complete (second draft) and I have a fully produced demo of all the songs.

This script was selected as a finalist for the Newcastle Film Festvial 'Pitch-a-Script' 2004.

The Edge

Originally written as 4 hour mini-series, this was condensed to a two hour screenplay. It is set in the near future and concerns a brilliant, though socially inept, University student. He is also a paraplegic in a wheelchair.

He is building for himself a Virtual Reality machine and frequently enter 'VR' to escape the real world. But as the story progresses his VR world starts to invade his dreams and his real life until it becomes impossible to tell them apart.

The Downing Affair

A political thriller that explores the criminal underworld of Sydney and police and political corruption at all levels.

It is the story of Bill Downing, Minister for Police in New South Wales, and an active anti-corruption crusader. As a result of his stance his young son is kidnapped. Unable to trust the police he enlists the aid of a headstrong young reporter to help find his son.

Return of the Prophet

Based on the novel, this is set in the future, in a society built up around the myth and legend of the early 21st century prophet Tobias - the messiah of our times - who was assassinated and cryogenically frozen.

In this future several hundred years later, Tobianism is the ruling religion. But all hell breaks loose when a team of revolutionary scientists manage to revive the frozen body of Tobias. Trouble is, his reincarnated soul is already reborn as a young man called Rene.
